We are plugging along with Mac continuing her reading, math and handwriting programs adding in a few skiing days here and there.
Snacks this month were super fun! I made a fruit rainbow with a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Mac made a fruit loop rainbow and then ate it of course. Mac also helped me mix the colors in the batter for the rainbow waffles from http://princesspinkygirl.com/rainbow-waffles/. And cookies from http://amandascookin.com/2011/03/st-patricks-day-cookies-rainbows.html which we had to invite the grandma's over for. We made pots of gold, shamrocks, rainbows and Mac in her creativity made a pretty good representation of a leprechaun plus a hammer and fairy shoes. A leprechaun's job from all the books we read. Ellie just enjoyed eating everything.
The crafts we did were the tissue paper rainbow from that artist woman. http://www.thatartistwoman.org/2009/03/tissue-paper-rainbows.html
And Mac made a leprechaun. http://www.allkidsnetwork.com/crafts/st-patricks-day/paper-plate-leprechaun.asp
Books we read were:
Clever Tom and the Leprechaun by Shute
St. Patrick's Day by Gibbons
Leprechauns Never Lie by Balian
Jamie O'Rourke and the Big Potato by DePaola
St. Patrick's Day by Rockwell
