So I jumped the gun and did a practice day last Friday. We started with prayer and the first question Mac asked was why, which was neat because I was able to explain to her even part of why we were homeschooling and already it was challenging me.
So cute, whatever I brought forward she was so ready to soak in. We started with our Bible time of We Choose Virtues and this week was on patience. Perfect start. We moved onto calendar time next and that was a little difficult because I didn't have the right markers. It's a good idea to use fine tip washable markers. And then she wanted to make things perfect so she kept trying to erase her writing- that subject will require a little more time than I thought. Then handwriting from Handwriting without Tears, which went easier than I thought it would.
We took a break after a half hour. Ellie was definitely hard to keep track of while teaching. She's crawling, pulling up to a stand and basically getting into everything.
We finished with math for kindergarteners from Horizons, which was a breeze! And then reading from Ordinary Parents Guide to Reading, again easy at this point.
Part of this is figuring out how far she is ahead. So total is only took about an hour, which was comforting.
